What a week! Time is flying here as we've recently been released from our quarantine to visit others now.
WEDNESDAY- We taught someone who the previous Elders had been teaching on Wednesday, Bob! His daughter lives in our ward with her family and trusted the Elders enough to let us teach him. We taught over zoom and the Spanish Elders joined us to help pass off the baton of the area. He had a great question about how to recognize the Holy Ghost, so we discussed it and invited him to keep a "spirit journal" to record the times he feels the spirit and what he was doing at that time. He takes notes on the Book of Mormon and has the desire to be baptized, but he will be moving into our ward soon, but we don't really know when because of coronavirus.
THURSDAY- We didn't have any appointments on Thursday, and some service fell through, so it was just one of those long days...
FRIDAY- We finally got on our bikes for the first time today! We just rode to a members house, but we discovered that the area is very hilly. Well, we didn't discover it, but our legs did.

We taught an actual lesson on Friday to Monica! She had been previously taught by the other Elders before we came. She invited us to her house and we had the lesson in her backyard. She was so nice and bubbly! We had a great conversation about the Spirit World and also the process of repentance. It was so nice to get out and have a great discussion in person finally!
SATURDAY- We spent almost 7 hours doing service today. First, helping out some members chop wood and make a garden area in their backyard. Then in the afternoon, we helped some members rearrange their house to get ready to move. They were kind enough and bought us tacos for dinner. I got a specialty, the California Tacos! It was carne asada, sour cream, cheese, and FRENCH FRIES! It was quite quite good.

SUNDAY- We did our weekly planning session on Sunday and it felt so great. I really felt energized to keep working with great goals in place.
MONDAY- Yesterday, we were able to do some service for Sister Leone, a member of our ward. She owns a ranch with horses, pigs, sheep, goats, and chickens. It was pretty cool. We got to feed the horses, but what she really needed was stairs. So, we built her some stairs... well, carved out some stairs in the side of a hill. She fed us tacos, too. The stairs turned out pretty well and it was a great opportunity to meet her. We also dug up a scorpion. The weather was absolutely beautiful the whole time. We like to describe it as "perfect." That's San Diego for ya!

Elder Doolen and I have been getting along great! We learned a lot this week about teaching with unity and with the spirit and now our lessons are 20x better! I've learned how to joke around more and stress less, while still being an obedient missionary with him.
I hope I'll be able to stay here, but we have transfers in a week and 2/3 of the mission will be changing, so nobody really knows what's going to happen. I might stay, I might go, who knows 🤷♂️🤷♂️
This gospel is so great and Jesus Christ is the true Savior. He is there. He is willing.
